Launching a two-sided marketplace into a crowded, search-led category

Our client operates a US-based vacation rental marketplace connecting property hosts with verified content creators, alongside a direct guest booking platform. Hosts list properties for free and pay a service fee on bookings; creators earn free stays, cash, or a commission on the bookings their content drives, with account verification and payments built into the platform.

Vacation rental marketing and creator-economy searches are both highly competitive, and the business needed to be found by two very different audiences at once: hosts looking for a way to market their properties, and creators looking for stays to partner on. Before the engagement, the site's SEO value lived almost entirely on the homepage, with no dedicated content built out to capture either audience's search intent.

A strong product with a homepage carrying all the SEO weight

The homepage copy was clear and benefit-led, but it was the only page doing any search work. There were no dedicated landing pages for host acquisition, creator acquisition, or the different property and platform niches the business serves. The FAQ content, while genuinely useful, wasn't structured to earn rich results. The blog existed but had no content calendar or keyword strategy behind it, and there was no internal linking connecting new content back to the core host and creator pages. Combined, this meant the business was highly dependent on direct and paid traffic rather than building a compounding organic channel.

A content-led SEO strategy built around two distinct audiences

BUILT OUT DEDICATED LANDING PAGES FOR HOST AND CREATOR ACQUISITION

We created intent-specific landing pages separating host acquisition from creator acquisition, rather than asking one homepage to rank for both. Pages were built around the searches each audience actually uses — property owners researching vacation rental marketing options, and creators researching paid stay and commission opportunities.

LAUNCHED A BLOG CONTENT PROGRAMME TARGETING THE CREATOR ECONOMY AND HOSTING

We developed and published a run of blog content targeting the vacation rental hosting and creator economy space, covering topics such as host income strategies, creator partnership guidance, and platform comparisons. Each post was built with internal links back to the host and creator landing pages to consolidate topical relevance and keep new organic traffic moving toward sign-up.

STRENGTHENED TECHNICAL SEO FOUNDATIONS

We addressed the technical groundwork needed for the new content to perform: implementing FAQPage schema against the existing FAQ content, cleaning up indexation and internal linking, and validating structured data and Core Web Vitals across the site so the growing page count stayed fast and fully crawlable.

+148%

GROWTH IN SEARCH VISIBILITY

Search visibility across host acquisition, creator acquisition, and vacation rental content terms improved as the site's page count and internal linking structure expanded.

INCREASE IN HOST SIGN-UPS

Clearer, intent-specific landing pages and stronger on-page structure helped convert a larger share of organic visitors into listed properties.

YellowInk took the time to understand both sides of our marketplace, not just SEO in general. The new content speaks directly to hosts and creators instead of trying to be everything to everyone, and we're seeing organic traffic turn into real sign-ups rather than just visits.
